We are back with the second part of the Tokyo Auto Salon 2014 since the long awaited Part 1. The other brand that had a booth that was swapped with audience is none other than Trust with their R35X which grabbed best of show for 2014.  TAS2014_MG_8176web

90’s Inspired Civic EF-9 : All function.

Text by : Randy F, Photos by : Randy F

The early 90s gave birth to iconic cars like the Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7 FD and Godzilla of a beast the Nissan Skyline R32 GTR. I personally couldn’t wait for the era of boxy R31s to pass, which was like the middle bastard child. The 70s gave us the Hakosukas and 2000GT while the 90s gave us the above, both of which are generations of cars I love.

The terrible car system that we have locally made many people give up cars of their dreams and forced to move on to newer cars, with the 150% road tax for cars that have passed the 10th year mark, its simply not rationale to keep old cars.

HongYao is one of the many that decided to persevere in keeping cars of that era running on the our roads. Moving from a Suzuki Swift GTi, he then made the purchase of a Honda Civic EF-9, one of the few still in existent here.

Let’s Stance @ Kallang Carpark F

Text by : Ray Ng, Photos by : Wei Yu, Tecky

When I was in Taiwan, a friend of mine posted a poster of an upcoming meet called “Let’s Stance”. It was co-organised by many local and neighbouring Malaysian car enthusiasts. I agreed that I would go, but wouldn’t bother to wash my car or polish it due to it being a dimly-lit public venue, I could always leg it if authorities arrived and deem it to be an unlawful assembly (despite it being just a normal car meet).

I admit that I autosol-ed the lips.

Sepang International Circuit : Time to Attack Round 1

Text by : Randy F, Photos by : Randy F

The clock ticked past 11pm on the 18th of May. A miniscule gathering of friends gathered to embark on a 300+ KM drive up to Sepang International Circuit, to act as a support and pit crew for a friend who was participating in the Time To Attack, organized by ZerotoHundred.com.

Feature: Brendan’s S2000.

Text by : Ray Ng. Photos by : RandyF & Neo

Somehow to me it looks like a fierce Asimo.

Somehow to me it looks like a fierce Asimo.

Although this is the third S2000 to be featured on The Right Wrong, it is the first time I’m writing about a fellow editor’s ride. Forgive me for being self indulgent, but Brendan has featured two of my previous cars in different magazines, one a centrefold, and the other adorning the cover page. By penning this article, I wouldn’t say I’m returning a favour, I would say he, and his S2000, very much deserve it.

Events: MPT Supersprint at Kallang Leisurepark Teaser

Text by : Ray Ng, Photos by : Tecky

The MPT Group brought back the drag race that was once part of Singapore’s motor racing history. As Singapore is land scarce, the race is actually being held within a parking lot, and the drag strip is only 180 metres long. There are actually many other viable venue alternatives like the Changi Exhibition Centre, F1 Pit Centre, or even closing half a section of a long straight public road.

Random Snaps: Wheel Spinning Action

This photo was taken at a recent drag race held locally. Not the usual car you will see participating at a drag race when it seems more suited for drifting. Nonetheless, the driver never fails to show that his S15 packs a punch, and also one to be reckoned with on the strip.

I’d rather smoke tires than cigarettes.

Some people engage in extreme sports to get their adrenaline rush. Certain ingredients in foods, like sugar, makes some go gaga; however, personally sodium chloride does it for me.

Eating salty Mcdonalds while penning this article I wondered what is the first thing that comes into my mind when it comes to a Toyota Supra built for drift. Unfortunately it was the viral video of this Russian girl having her buttons on her blouse all bursting, exposing her rack while seated in a drifting Supra.

Manizha Faraday, if you’re wondering.

Update: Benjamin’s AE86

Words by : Ray Ng Photos by : Neo

It’s almost a year since we featured Benjamin”s AE86 here. To many of those residing overseas, an AE86 wouldn’t mean much to begin with, or cost much so as to speak.

A second look at this AE86 since last year.

Sadly living in Singapore, all our cars here are slapped with a 10-year certification that is worth around USD$80,000 that allows the cars to be on the roads. Owning a car here is like having a depreciating asset pegged to the years left on that piece of paper. Cars like the AE86, would have renewed this certificate at its age.

Random Snaps: Randy in Japan – Ford F100 Truck

Words by : RandyF, Ray Ng Photos by : RandyF

This is not your usual vehicle that you would expect to see here on TheRightWrong.Net. Randy, who was in Japan in May, had RWB in his to-do list of places to visit. Apparently, he wasn’t aware of Nakai-san’s busy schedule.

Japan – Ford F100 on the street near Sakasai

It was a disappointing trip down to RWB due to his fault on not calling Nakai-san on his availability and he was creating another master piece all the way in Moscow, Russia. Dejected, he made his 1 kilometre walk back to the train station.
